GENE (GENERATION: ENGINEERS)
Generation: Engineers (GENE) is a subprogram of ENGITEX’14 organized by Engineering Students’ Society (ENGINIUS XIX). GENE is an event that will organize activities and competition for primary school students across the country. This program will be based on the theme for ENGITEX’14 which is “Dimensions”.
GENE is aimed to encourage primary students to think creatively and explore the possibilities in inventing something. The activities are also conducted hoping that the students will gain benefit educationally in a fun and enjoyable way. Hence, GENE will act as a platform for them to express their talents besides gaining the skills and experience in exploring the engineering field.
Besides, students that are involved in GENE are expected to relate technology and nature as environmental awareness should be cultivated in everyone. It is also important that they learnt the importance of unity and teamwork in life. These qualities should help and guide the students to be prepared in facing future challenges and hopefully they will be a successful engineer and leader in the future.
ERIC (ECO RACE AND INNOVATION CHALLENGE)
In light of these realizations, the Engineering Student Society (ENGINIUS), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) will be organizing a competition-based program called Eco Race and Innovation Challenge (ERIC). ERIC is one of the subprogram under Engineering Technology Exhibition (ENGITEX ‘14).
The objective of this program is to develop and instill the knowledge of inventing in every participant. We also hope that this program will be the platform for the participants to apply their knowledge that have been obtained in their schools into the engineering field and thus producing future engineers. With the theme ‘environment friendly’ we also hope that we can open an engineering path which instills the aspect of environmental friendly in our inventions thus preserving our world.
With this, we hope that the program will embrace and reflect its objectives of this program in general, for the benefit of the ummah at large.
